"Yankee Doodle"

For those of you who might have been hiding under a rock this past week, the New York Yankees won the World Series. This past Friday, Mayor Bloomberg presented the team with a key to the city at City Hall, which is 2 blocks from my apartment. I knew there was a parade for the team that was ending at City Hall, but I didn't realize they were going to be passing my street. Let me tell you how hardcore Yankees fans are--they started lining the streets at 4 in the MORNING! Needless to say, the Yankees are kind of a big deal. (Major understatement)

The following pictures were taken outside my window throughout the parade! This is my street (John St.) with the parade going down Broadway.

Construction trucks and fire trucks allowed people to climb on top of them in order to see the parade better.

There was so much confetti and paper and toilet paper rolls filling the air it was ridiculous. This picture is of the paper (if you can see it) and a roll of toilet paper that got stuck at the top of a building and starting unrolling into the sky!

This day is just one of the many examples of how cool it is to live in NYC. The things I get to see and the moments I get to experience!
