"Closing Time"

So yesterday was my last day of work at MacKenzie's...it's kind of bittersweet! Bitter because I'm going to miss everyone I worked with (Roiann, Terri, Brenda, Andria, and Michelle) and the crazy stories and times we had there, yet sweet because this is one step closer to my preparation for take-off to NYC! I'm going to use these next 2 weeks to make sure I have everything in order for the move and searching for a temporary job once I get to New York (since I don't have one and I'll definitely need one)! However, I'm sure I'll be back at least once a week before I go because first of all, I have one more paycheck to pick up, and two, I'm doing the flowers for AOII Recruitment and the flowers of course are coming from MacKenzie's!

Plus, it's a good thing yesterday was my last day of work since I'll be nursing Mom back to health after she broke her ankle. Yes, Mom broke her ankle, and not by doing anything simple. No no, she broke it SKYDIVING! I am not lying, she jumped out of a plane and everything. We have proof--we got a video. She had a bit of a rough landing, but she was a trooper and had a smile on her face the whole time. And she still is convinced she can help with the move, so we'll see!

So I've closed up shop at MacKenzie's for a final time after 3 years there, and I've learned so much about so much, even if it is only a flower shop. I am grateful for the skills I've acquired and the people that I've met and just the sheer experience of working with the people I have worked with. I believe that what I've learned working there can only help me when I get to New York City!
